No Death Star project… Yet…

On November 12th 2012, a popular petition asked for the construction of a Death Star. At the time of this post, 34,435 people have signed the petition. There are good purposes listed for this construction : engineering, job creation, space exploration…

Just not this time…

The White House responded and unfortunately, there will be no such project. The main reasons are the estimated cost (just as lowering the deficit can’t afford a $850,000,000,000,000,000 project…), especially with such a vulnerability.

But the most reassuring is that the government does not support planet blow up !

The response by itself is worth reading. Maybe that we are not ready to see a full scale Death Star, but that is for a good reason. Read the petition and the anser.
