Disneyland Paris LEGO Store invitation

I got mine 🙂 ! Ok, for all of you who are not in France, so much enthusiasm may sound a little weird. But the opening of the LEGO Store in Disneyland Paris was such a disappointment until now. We hope…

A delayed opening

The LEGO Store in Disneyland Paris was supposed to open on September 27th 2013. Unfortunately, its opening was delayed because of an accident on the site. Since then, LEGO was totally silent and did not informed about any new opening day.

But we were able to follow the evolution of the store setup especially on Disneyland specialized forums such as Disney Central Plaza (in french). And much more interesting, some members of the staff of the first LEGO Store in Paris where lately hired to work in the LEGO Store of Disneyland. And they where waiting for that opening, especially because of the distance. The two stores are 50 km apart, they didn’t signed to go that far to work.

Work in progress on the LEGO Store

Work in progress on the LEGO Store in Disney Village on December 22

So, on early December, they where told that the LEGO Store was scheduled for an opening on December 30th. That didn’t happened.

The new opening ?

The real opening is still uncertain. Some people received invitations for this opening which will happen from January 14th to 19th. I got mine today, january 3rd, but Hothbricks published his on December 30th. Unfortunately, December 30th was the day the Safety Committee was scheduled to inspect the store. We don’t know what’s next but the store haven’t opened yet.

On Disney Central Plaza, someone has posted that the inauguration is canceled because the official inauguration will happen on January 25. It is still unclear if the store will be open those days before the inauguration in respect to those invitations.

I think that this is the most chaotic opening I’ve seen.

The Disneyland LEGO Store

The LEGO Store in Disneyland, and more precisely in Disney Village, is supposed to be the biggest LEGO Store in France. On 500 m2, there is enough room for great displays and the pictures on DLP Welcome are very attractive. Most of us AFOLs are ready to rush for the opening day, unfortunately, we still have to wait for it.
